There is nothing impossible with God!

When I started this blog I promised you that we would do this journey towards healing together and that I would be raw and honest with you. So to be honest, this morning when I woke up I felt tired, discouraged and sad. All I wanted to do was just curl up in bed and stay there for the day. Then I rolled over, opened my eyes and saw my beautiful six year old granddaughter sleeping beside me and I knew that she deserved more from me than a Nanna who didn’t want to participate in the day.

So I woke her up and said “What do you think about taking Baxter (our dog) down to the beach for a walk, a swim and then a milkshake and coffee? Her little eyes popped open and she laughed and said “Yes please!” and we were off!

I don’t know why I felt discouraged this morning but I do know that it was not what God had planned for me today! However, I had to make the decision to participate in the day and I am so glad that I did. It has been a day of trying new things and stepping out, a day to stop saying “I can’t do that” and start saying “I am going to give it a go!”

When I was married we had the most amazing herb and vegetable garden because my ex-husband was an avid and keen gardener. I loved going to the garden and picking fresh lettuce leaves, tomatoes, herbs, cucumbers to make the most delicious and healthy salads. I have never been that interested in gardening, I let Mark take care of it all by himself, but today I decided that I so missed fresh herbs that I took myself off to Bunnings and bought myself a basil plant! It is a small beginning but I am going to give it a go! Matthew 19:26 tells us that with God all things are possible, I know he probably wasn’t talking about my lack of gardening skills but I do believe that with God’s help and some commitment on my part, that I can become a gardener.

We can apply this to all areas of our lives. What do you tell yourself that you can’t do “I can’t live without my abusive boyfriend/husband.” Guess what you can! “I can’t get a better job”. Yes you can! “I can’t exercise!” Yes you can! Friends! There is nothing you cannot do if it is what you really want! I feel like shouting it from the rooftops “Give it a go!! Don’t be limited by small thinking!” Jesus came to give us life and life more abundantly (John 10:10) Go out and get that abundant life today!
