Who are you really? Your identity in Christ.

It is important for us to know our identity in Christ in order for us to know and trust in His promises and be totally set free from the pain of our past.

God’s word, which is always true, tells us “we are fearfully and wonderfully made” (Psalm 139:14). We are not accidents, we are not mistakes! We were created by a loving Creator and created for His purposes. Romans 8:16-17 tells us that the Holy Spirit bears witness to the fact that we are children of God and therefore we are joint heirs with Christ! How exciting is that!

If God is King then we are His princess and doesn’t every girl dream of being a princess? With Jesus, you already are!

Imagine the confidence you would have if you were a princess and able to do and have whatever you wanted!

I am NOT saying that as soon as you agree to follow Jesus that you will suddenly be fabulously wealthy and the world will fall at your feet! NO that is wrong teaching! But I ask you to consider how a princess would feel? Secure, adored, protected, confident in who she was and what she wanted to do because she would have the backing of her father, the King. Wouldn’t it be amazing to feel that way? That is what is promised to you through having a personal faith in Jesus Christ because God is our King!

I know in the past, because of the sexual abuse I experienced as a child, I did not feel confident, or secure, or adored or protected. I longed to feel that way but I just didn’t. Instead I was fearful, timid, I felt unworthy of being anything much or doing anything special with my life. I chose wrong relationships trying to make myself feel loved but instead felt even worse with each successive relationship. Does that sound familiar to you? It has been a gradual process since my salvation but I am finally realising just who I am in Christ. I am a Princess of the Most High King, as a believer I am precious to God.

However, I have found that I do not need to stay in a place of shame, fear or even guilt; through Christ Jesus I am free (Galatians 5:1). I am on the road to victory! I have the revelation that I CAN do all things through Christ who strengthens me (Philippians 4:13) and I am inviting you all to join me on this journey to freedom! Will you come with me?
